Eric,
The only "Trees" I see at
http://www.childtalk.com/History/carrollfamilydna.html
are for you # 27123, Kevin Carroll # 27273, and a new one # 60012.
The earliest Carroll I see in the new profile # 60012 not yet posted is Luke, born 1770.
It seems to me to start in VA and then
move on to KY.
I don't see one for Massachusetts. ?? I believe that Jim Denning has some Carrolls in
his DNA project in MA, but I don't know for
sure.
As for spelling.... if it starts with C or K, has an R and an L somewhere in it, I'll
research it. These Carrolls are so hard to
connect, I think we must try everything we can. Actually Carhol is closer to the
spelling of Cearbhaill (or something like that)
which is said to be more nearly the original spelling. On the other hand Chief Ely
O'Carroll claims to be head of Clan Cain
(Carroll). "Cian" has no R or L. See:
http://www.clancian-carroll.com/
I admit to being totally ignorant of Irish History or the Celtic language. If someone
says the name is any spelling of Carroll,
I'll claim kin.
Lura

: Hi Lura,
:
: Seems like at least one new and different Carroll Family Tree has shown up. At least
one from Massachusetts from the 1600s, which
interests me, and perhaps others. Also noted recently a totally different spelling as
Carhol.
