Note to Kevin: I had mine extended to 67 and received the results many
months ago. Could you check on posting on Carroll DNA chart when you get a
chance?
Thanks!

Some of you only did your DNA test for 12, 25, or 37 markers. I
believe that it takes the whole 67 markers FamilyTree DNA offers
in order to find true matches. The lower number of markers make
too many false positives.
From July 8th through July 19th, FTDNA is reducing all their
Y-DNA upgrade prices.
Current Group SALE Price
Test Regular price Sale Price
Y12-25 $49 $35
Y12-37 $99 $69
Y12-67 $189 $149
Y25-37 $49 $35
Y25-67 $148 $109
Y37-67 $99 $79
If our group of Sampson/Duplin County, NC men had stopped at 37
markers, we could not have cemented our connection to each other.
The NULL value at DYS 425 is distinctive from the other CARROLL
men. Also, it seems to be suggesting there might be a
relationship to other surnames from Ulster Ireland or Scotland.
I encourage you to finish the testing to 67 markers if possible.
Who knows? Some of the rest of you might be Scots-Irish, too.
(I'm not implying that one marker can prove or disprove anything,
but that one marker is being very helpful.)
Remember, you must place your order from your personal FTDNA
website before July 19.
