The Carroll of any spelling surname project is becoming more and more cosmopolitan. Even
though two new participants from National Genographic have test results posted, but with
no genealogical data, (I wish people wouldn't do that), their haplogroups can be
estimated using Whit Athey's calculator. Kit # N17141 turns out to be haplogroup E3b.
So at the moment there are 4 different haplogroups represented by the project
participants; R1b, R1a, E3b, and E3a. Even though the surnames are all Carroll, they
cannot be related across haplogroup lines.
