Thank you Jeff. I have been corresponding with Lura and the SAmpson County
Carroll Researchers for several years. My ancestor in Sampson County is
John W. Carroll (1789-1867), who married Elizabeth Joyner (Joyner) around
1823 and farmed in the NE part of the county around Newton Grove. We have
pretty well established thru DNA analysis that John W. was NOT part of the
Carrolls in the southern part of Sampson County but we don't know where he
came from or who his parents were. It's possible he might have been adopted
or perhaps was a bastard. We have a solid paper trail from Rodger Carroll
and John Sidney Carroll to John W. but then the trail turns cold. I'm
watching for matching DNA results from some other line in Sampson County. I
haven't had time to do much research for several months.

Hey Emmy & Frank!
I'm Jeff Carroll, descendant of Jessie (1 & 2) and I share your faith in
Lura. I'm not sure how we are connected, but welcome aboard!
Jeff
