Lura,
Yes, I noticed that too late. I already had hit the send button.....
It seems as if Charles Carroll (III) of Carrollton's great grandson John
Lee Carroll (1830-1911) was a Governor of Maryland from 1878 to 1880, and
lived at the Doughoregan Manor at some point. His father was known as
Charles (V) of Doughoregan who married Mary Lee Digges in 1825.
Governor John L. Carroll married Anita Phelps and they had a daughter Mary
Louisa Carroll. Did they have any sons? Named Charles? Or Philip?
Shouldn't be too difficult to find out...
Now this "Cian" in Stockton, California seems to have quite a business in
selling O'Carroll trinkets, etc. But as Kevin has told me, there are
serious unanswered questions about his pedigree. He seems rather
self-appointed.
What we need is the Y-haplotype from a proven descendant of C. C. of C., or
a bona fide cousin of same.
Eric

Eric,
That article was originally published in the early 1900's, so the Charles
mentioned at the end is probably dead. MAYBE his son
Phillip is the current resident. I really don't know.
