I had prepared the following letter to send before I just now read Eric's letter.
Eric, I THOUGHT that CC of C only had one great-grandson who lived to have children and
that his name was Charles Carroll, born
1828. I thought John Lee Carroll was a great-great-grandson of CC of C. ???
Look at the following and ANYBODY tell me where I need to change it.

I have copied or been given the following genealogy which I can't prove to be true.
However, if it is true, there may be
descendants of CC of C from four CARROLL men born around 1850. That could be a lot of men
by now. I don't want to put this on the
regular CARROLL-L list, because it may not be accurate.
1. Charles Carroll the Settler("The Attorney General")- born 1660 in
Litterlouna, Kings Cty, Ireland - died July 1, 1720 in
Baltimore, MD
2. Charles Carroll of Annapolis and "Doughoregan Manor"-born April 2(?),
1702-died 1782
3. CC of C [Charles Carroll of Carrollton] -born September 8, 1737-died November 14,
1832
4. Charles Carroll of Homewood-born March 2, 1775-died 1825
5. Charles Carroll of Doughoregan-born July 25, 1801
6. Charles Carroll - born 1828
7. Thomas Sim Lee Carroll
7. John Lee Carroll
7. Oswald Carroll
7. Albert Henry Carroll
I guess we need to check the census records for the last 160 years and see what Carrolls
had households in Washington, DC or
Baltimore, MD and surrounding counties.
Are any of you descended from these men?? Maybe we already have a sample of DNA from CC
of C.
For right now, I am only considering the descendants of CC of C. If we can't find a
descendant of one of these men, maybe we can
look at the descendants of the cousins of CC of C - those descended from Daniel Carroll of
"Duddington" the other son of Charles the
Settler.
It would be good if a skeleton or framework could be established in the DNA project, so
that others could identify their lines of
descent.
