Linda and others,
Thank you for posting this information, which I did not know at all.
Thanks also to Eric for posting the URL several days ago.
I just "googled" (now an acceptable verb according to the dictionary)
the name Camilla Carroll and found another interesting older article
which I haven't even finished reading. However I wanted to go ahead
and share it. I must leave home for a few hours and wanted you to
have it before I had time to leave.
It is located at:

Subject: RE: [CARROLL-DNA] Who Lives in Doughoregan Manor?
: Greetings Eric,
:
: I have been studying this info and trying to track down the lineage
also.
: Here's what I found:
:
: The first Philip Acosta CARROLL, Sr. (son of Gov. John Lee Carroll
and his 2nd
: wife Mary Carter Thompson), born 10 May 1879 and died 08 Jul 1957
married Nina
: R. Unknown, born 22 Jul 1897 and died 11 Feb 1989.
:
: I believe they had three children, but have only found info on two
so far.
: Sons: Philip Acosta CARROLL, Jr. (born: 14 Oct 1925) and John Lee
CARROLL (born:
: 1927). This Philip was the current owner as of the article below in
March 2006.
: But he died on 16 May 2006.
:
: Philip Acosta CARROLL, Jr.'s children are: Camilla CARROLL, born in
1959 and
: Philip D. CARROLL, born 1961. I'm not sure if one of them lives in
the manor
: home now, but at the very least, they lived on the grounds in
separate homes
: before their father died, all on Manor Lane.
:
: Does this seem correct? Philip Acosta CARROLL, Jr.'s wife could be
either or
: both of:
: Ann Chadwick REBER and/or Clelia DELAFIELD.
:
: Back to the hunt!

: Subject: [CARROLL-DNA] Who Lives in Doughoregan Manor?
:
: According to the Baltimore Sun, March 2006, he is Philip Acosta
Carroll.
:
: Now the first Philip Acosta Carroll was the son of Gov. John Lee
Carroll and his
: 2nd wife Mary Thompson, born 1879. (Gov. Carroll's sister Mary had
married a
: Dr. Eleazer Acosta of VA, and they lived in Paris. Gov. John Lee
Carroll was a
: great grandson of Charles Carroll of Carrollton.)
:
: It is not possible that Philip Acosta Carroll, born 1879, is the
present
: occupant owner. He may be a son or grandson of the same name.
:
: Doughoregan Manor was built around 1727 by Charles Carroll of
Carrollton's
: father, and its provenance goes very much like this:
:
: Charles Carroll (II) built it.
: Charles Carroll (III) of Carrollton inherited it
: Charles Carroll (IV) of Homewood born in it
: Charles Carroll (V) Colonel of Doughoregan
: John Lee Carroll, Gov., bought it from his brother Charles
: Charles Carroll son
: Charles Carroll grandson?
: Philip Acosta Carroll (I) bought it from Charles, a half brother or
uncle
: (Carroll)
: Philip Acosta Carroll (II) son?
: Philip Acosta (III) grandson? and present occupant.
:
: So it is very likely that the present occupant Philip Acosta Carroll
is a direct
: descendant of Charles Carroll of Carrollton. A sample of his Y-DNA
should be
: identical to C. C. of C.s.
