accurate.
Researching "Brunswick County,, Virginia Deed Books" Abstracted by Dr. Stephen
E. Bradley, Jr. I found the following:
!) Daniel CARREL of Prince George Co. leased 265 acres for 1 year from George HICKS and
his wife Sarah(X) of Surry County. 5 OCT 1732 (Deed BK 1, p13)
2)John CARREL of Bartie Precinct NC to John CHAPMAN of Surry Co. 23 MAY 1734 a one year
lease for 140 acres where sd John CARREL lately lived, also 300 acres joining the above
where Benjamin CARREL lately lived. (Deed Bk 1, p144)
3)John CARREL of Bartie Precinct NC to John CHAPMAN of Surry Co. 24 MAY 1734.
CHAPMAN'S release from CARREL for 2 tracts where sd. John CARREL and his brother
BENJAMIN CARREL lately lived: 440 acres in 2 tracts: 140 acres of which had been a patent
to sd. John CARREL dated 31 OCT 1726 and 300 of which had been a patent to sd John CARREL
dated 28 SEP 1728.(Deed BK 1, p145)
