Rita,
I've been there, done that! which I promised a few months ago. The
Carrington Cemetery is beautiful with a view of Red Mountain, I am sure.
Mr. Tilley was not home, but the Mrs. was very gracious in allowing us to
take pictures.
On the road I was rereading a letter written by Mary Ethel Tilley (who is
buried in this cemetery) to a cousin in Texas in 1942. She wrote that
the old homeplace where they lived was built by Nathaniel Carrington and
Anna Davis Carrington (both of whom are buried in marked graves in this
cemetery). He is noted as "Nat" on the tombstones... maybe the stone
mason charged by the letter!!
The bad news is, these were the first pictures on a 36 exposure roll of
film. And Christmas is just past!! May be a March birthday before we
finish taking all of those pictures, but I always get doubles and you
shall have an entire set!
Ann
