Hi! I'm new to the list. Thanks, Rita!
I'm trying to workout the complicated intertwining of CARRINGTONS and
COZARTS in my husband's family tree.
His gggrandmother is ELIZA JANE CARRINGTON, born 1851, probably in
Henderson Co, TN. Family tradition says her parents were Priestly
CARRINGTON and Caroline COZART (both born 1820-22, from census records).
I have some suspicions about who their parents were, but they're purely
hunches.
Priestley's parents *may* have been Jemima Cozart who married Scion
Carrington in Person County, NC in 1811. There is a Jemima Carrington
living with Wiley, Frances and Monroe in the 1850 Henderson census.
Caroline *may* be the Ann Carolina Cozart b. 1822 who is the daughter of
David COZART and Mary "Polly" CARRINGTON.
If anyone can help me out on this--please do! My head is swimming with
Cozarts and Carringtons! These were two VERY close families...
