Based on info my family has recently learned, though none of it is footnoted, my family is
descended from the Carrington Family which is subject of this thread. It appears that
John Knight and Mary Carrington, among their children, had a son named Carrington Knight.
The family resided in Jasper County Georgia, Carrington married a lady with the last name
"Hebron", and they lived in maybe Coweta but certainly in Carroll County
Georgia. One of their children, Permelia Knight (1815 or 16) ["William" and
"Permelia" and the dates appear in a family bible dating from the l850s],
married Willaim Young (1811) in the 1830s,and one of their children was John James Young,
from which I am descended, and for which documentation is very good--courthouse records,
bibles, censuses, four generations of testimony.
Does anyone have any real documentation on the Carrignton Family and its background in the
Barbadoes and Virginia to NC. Mere statements drive me crazy, and the Rev. Timothy
Carrington was present in Jasper County, Ga. during some of these years, also descended
from VA. How does he fit in?
