I cannot assist you as all my CARRINGTONs are in Essex and Suffolk,
U.K., but I have forwarded your post on to the CARRINGTON List.

Hi Diane & Peter:
My curiosity has been aroused by the names in Diane's CARRINGTON line and
the similarity of names and professions with my own CARRINGTON line.
Although it is in Connecticut, no connection to the well-known Edward
CARRINGTON line there can be found.
I can trace back only to Dr. Peter CARRINGTON ( -ca1727) who m. New
Haven, CT bef 1692, Ann (WILMOT) LINES (1669/70-aft1727), wid/o Benjamin
LINES; their sons were John, Dan, Zebulon, Noadiah, Lemuel, Levinus,
Riverius. John, Lemuel, Riverius also were physicians.
2. Dan (1701-1736) m. New Haven 28 Aug 1727, Hannah TUTTLE (bp1697-ca1784);
their sons were Timothy, Dan.
3. Timothy (1728- ) m. Wallingford, CT 26 Sep 1751, Mamre MUNSON
(1734-1787); their sons were Liverus, Lemuel, Dan, Timothy, John.
4. Timothy (1768- ) m. Wallingford, Esther HALL (1770- ); their only
son was Stephen Hall who m. Lydia GILBERT (sis/o Asa, Jr).
5. Nancy (1801-ca1832) m. Wallingford 30 Jun 1819, Asa GILBERT, Jr (1798-
) who took the first two shiploads of lumber from St. Clair Co., MI to
Chicago. Nancy and perhaps some children d. during a cholera epidemic in
Michigan. My GILBERT line is then: Theodore Monroe, Charles Pusey, Edna
Belle (my mother). Nancy & Asa also named a son Timothy.
Dr. Timothy CARRINGTON is first recorded in New Haven 8 Oct 1702 when the
General Assembly paid him for professional services; he witnessed a legal
document 11 Jan 1706/7. Where did he come from?
"The ancestors in direct line in this country" of a Dr. Edward CARRINGTON
(for whom I don't have dates) "were Edward, Dr. Peter, Dr. John and Dr.
Lemuel of Amity Parish of New Haven." (Source: "Medical History and
Biography", Papers of New Haven Colonial History Society, Vol. 2, p. 299)
Is it possible my Dr. Timothy came north from Madison Co, GA? Any clues or
suggestions for research will be greatly appreciated.
