The Carrington family was traced from one Michael Carrington who was Sword Bearer to
Richard the Lionhearted in the 13th century. He died in battle but left a son who became
the ancestor of hundreds of Carringtons in England and in Ireland.
There are some chapters that explain some lineages. Let me see if that helps anyone.

It is well known that Asa Carrington's first wife, Isabelle Cooper was part indian.
Hence, all the descendants of Asa and Isabelle have Indian genes. The story was that the
parents of Isabelle's white mother were a family named Byerly who lived near
Fincastle, Indiana and that as a young teenager she had eloped with an Indian. This is
told by a relative...This took place many, many moons ago. A family by the name of Byerly
lived in Russell Township, Putnam Co., Indiana. They had 2 daughters, one was Susan who
married a Wilson. Susan's sister had a boy friend, a Mr. Cooper, her parents
didn't approve of because he was an Indian. His father a full blooded Indiana and his
mother a half Indian. One day Susan Byerly, her sister and their mother were doing the
family wash down by a little brook near the home. This young man came riding up to them on
an Indian pony. He rode up by the side of Susan's sister, reached down took her by the
hand and she stepped up on his foot, leaped in!
to his lap and away they did go. They eloped. When their first child was born they named
her Isabelle. Then years rolled and and Isabelle fell in love and married Asa Carrington.
Their first child was named Alexander.
