THE FAMILY OF SAMUEL CARRINGTON REVOLUTIONARY WAR SOLDIER.....PAGE 10
Samuel Carrington b. 1754 d. May 6, 1818
Millie McDonald b. 1758 d. 1840
Married Jan.8, 1782 at Port Tobacco, Maryland on the Charles County bank of the Potomac
River. Settled in Montgomery Co., Kentucky approximately 5 1/2 miles west of Mt.
Sterling.
Children:
1.Thomas...married Elizabeth Caywood, his first cousin, daughter of Priscilla and Stephen
Caywood (Priscilla being a sister of his father, Samuel Carrington) in 1804. They moved to
northern Putnam Co., Indiana in 1835 and settled just a few miles south of Russellville.
Second marriage of Thomas was to Turzy Jane Wilson April 18, 1847.
2. Randolph...Married Catherine McGary in Kentucky Jan. 13, 1811. This family moved to
Callaway Co., Missouri in 1826 and lived there till their death.
3. Samuel...Married Martia Ann Graves. Second marriage to Margaret Lacey. They lived their
entire lives in Mntgomery Co., Kentucky.
4. Elizabeth...married first cousin Stephen Caywood in 1804 in Montgomery Co., Maryland.
5. TIMOTHY....MARRIED MARY LANE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, KENTUCKY IN 1815. IT IS BELIEVED
THEY LIVED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES IN KENTUCKY.
6. Sarah...married a cousin Judson McDaniel in Kentucky prior ot 1818. This family came to
Indiana in the 1830's and lived near Parkersburg, Indiana which was fairly close to
her brother, Thomas. She and her husband are buried in the LaFollette Cemetery in northern
Putnam County.
7. Susan...married James Hoffman of Culpepper, Virginia.
8. Priscilla...married Alexander McDaniel December 24, 1818.
9. John Carrington...married Permelia Anderson sometime prior to 1828. His son deserted
the Union Army and joined the Confederate Army
