I show only five children. I note you show a Susan Carrington, b. abt
1811 - four years before Timothy and Mary were married. Are you sure?
Not at this time. This was based on two sources. My first source is:
Caroline R. Miller, "The Kendalls and Carringtons of Bath County,
Kentucky[:ITAL] (Augusta, Kentucky: privately published, 1984)
I found this in the Kentucky Historical Society Library in Frankfort.
As to my second source, it was an e-mail from another rersearcher. I must have misfiled
that as I can't find it at the moment. Since this second source noted the same
information, I did not do further verification although it may be that the second source
obtained its data from the first or vice versa.
In any case, the relationship is based on the first source and the birth date is based on
the second source. I suspect the birth date noted in the second source is an estimate and
probably based on age of 20 at marriage.
Along with this is the fact that Timoth Carrington was the bondsman for the marriage of
Susan Carrington to Harvey Cassity. That record does not show that Timothy was the father
nor any other relationship, just the bondsman. It is possible that Susan was a daughter,
a younger sister or cousin or even the widow of a brother although daughter fits somewhat
better.
Since the marriage occurred in 1831, the assumption is that she was born about 20 years
earlier which would be about 1811. Of course, she could have been younger or as noted
above some other relationship to Timothy.
I had not done more verification on this since it was not a line of interest.
How do you fit into the Carrington family?
My wife's first cousin is decended from a Carrington and that Carrington is a 3rd
cousin to some first cousins of mine. One of these descends from Timothy's son, James
H., his son, John W. and his son, John Wesley. The other descends from Timothy's
brother Samuel, his son, Samuel, and his sone Levi Butler.
