I am looking for anyone who has definite proof or sources that can verify that Charity
Carrington is the daughter of George Carrington of Virginia by way of Barbados. Everyone
has her birth in 1730 at Leesburg, Virginia, however, my research has found that Leesburg
did not exist until 1758. Also, George Carrington and his wife, Anne Mayo Carrington,
had 11 children and none were named Charity. They were married in 1732 and their first
born was Paul in 1733. I understand that some descendants have DNA that match other
George Carrington children, but that does not tie to Charity without records of her being
a sibling. It is know that Virginia did not have birth records before 1853 and what
records they did have were mostly destroyed by the British. Currently, I have George
Carrington listed as her father in my tree along with all the other Carrington connections
(Cabells, Mayos, etc.), but if I cannot find a concrete connection of Charity to George,
then I probably wi!
ll be deleting a lot of names. For the record, Charity "Carrington" Wells is
my 5th Great Grandmother by way of her daughter, Mary A. Wells Adamson, but I would love
to have substantiated record that goes back farther than just her.
Thank you.
