Many Thanks for the reply Brandon. As you can see this thread has been going for 7years
and this is one of the first replies that is directly related to William Carrington !
My family line comes down from William and Hannah through Charles Carrington (1849-1908)
who married Mercy Allison (1855-1918) in 1874 in Burton on Trent,Through my grandfather,
another William Carrington (1884-1946)who married Doris Thompson (1897-1955)In
Cullingworth west Yorkshire in 1917. Then to my father Wallace who was married to Wendy
Binns in 1957 I am the youngest of their three children born 1961.
These are distant ties but all fascinating stuff !
I visited Riseley in Bedfordshire a few years ago and found it to be a very pleasant
village with very helpful inhabitants !I bought a book which has a picture of a thatched
house which I'm sure was where James Carrington once lived.
At the far end of the village is plot 161High Street which has a tiny thatch where our
ancestor William lived , amazing to think there were once 10 people living in such a tiny
house.
There are very few graves with our name on in the church yard and as far as I know , none
from our line.
once again thanks for the reply
Peter
