Cary Perkins of the US and myself have found that the Carrington and Bramhill families
have DNA that is exceptionally close. This is interesting as the English manors of
Carrington and Bramhall are just miles apart south of Manchester in the northwest. It may
indicate that two brothers either owned or worked at the manors at about the time that
surnames were adopted. Cary believes his family went to the US via the West Indies.
We'd be interested to hear from any West Indies Carringtons who have had a 37-marker
DNA test.
