info regarding his POB, parents, etc.

Liz,
Nice to hear from you again.
I really believe there must have been a relationship between your Ellen
CARRIGAN
and my Patrick CARRIGAN, since both were born in County Kilkenny
and both ended up in Kickapoo Twp., Peoria County, IL.
What were the dates of birth of your great-grandparents?
My Patrick CARRIGAN was born in Callan, County Kilkenny between 1803 and
1809 to
Thomas and Anstra (nee SPELLMAN) CARRIGAN. Supposedly, he emigrated
to Philadelphia in about 1822 at the age of 19 years and then migrated to
Peoria, IL.
In 1850 census of Kickapoo, it shows another CARRIGAN family living in the
same
household as Patrick's family. This was Thomas CARRIGAN and his wife,
Joanna (nee LARKINS) CARRIGAN; both 25 years of age. I would guess that this
was a brother to Patrick. Were Patrick and Thomas the brothers of your Ellen
CARRIGAN???
Patrick married Ann RYAN in Kickapoo in 1840. I do not know her parents,
but I know
she was born in County Tipperary between 1815-1820. Ann possibly
had a sister, Margaret, who married a Francis DOUBET in Kickapoo in 1842.
Were Ann and Margaret the sisters of your John RYAN???
Patrick and Ann died in Kickapoo in 1868 and 1901, respectively. Both are
buried in
St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo.
Do you know what years your Ellen and John emigrated? Where were they
married and
when? Have you checked any of the census records for them for
the periods before their marriage?
Maybe together we can make a connection between our CARRIGAN's and RYAN's.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kevin
