Hi Kevin,
I am still confused! Can find so little! I do not know about the birthdates of
greatgrandparents, only that she came from Kilkenney and he from Tipperary, he cameover in
1845 to Peoria County. He then was in Rosefield Twp and she in Kickapoo Twp.
I do know that Ellen had a brother, Thomas Carrigan, and she was in the 1845 State Census
as a Carrigan. They married 4/16/1852 in Peoria and family thought he was born 1810-1811.
He died and is buried in Kickapoo Ca Cemetery: 8/21/1879 but I do not know when or where
she died. She was in Logan County, I know, from 1910 to 1916 and then just disappeared!
I can not locate any Illinois death for her. The Ellen Ryans buried at the Ca Cemetery
are not her, as she was living in Lincoln IL when my grandmother died in 1916. I have a
list of IL deaths of Ellen Ryans from a researcher - there was one in Logan County and one
in Peoria County, but neither was my greatgrandmother.
Their children were: Mike, John, Jr., Willie, Elizabeth, Laura, Lucille, and Mary Ann (my
grandmother) who was known as "Molly".
I only wish I knew something about the family of both John and Ellen, it would sure help!
They ran a boarding house, "Pacific House at 19 Fulton in Peoria and Thomas Carrigan
was living at that address, and are listed there in some of the later census I saw at the
Peoria Library.
Glad to hear from you again - this sure is a puzzle! Did you forward information from a
Diana? It has alot of info but I have not been able to study it yet. You can write me at
lizabeth_2_2000(a)yahoo.com if you want, might be easier and all of my genealogy notes are
there. I do not use my outlook mailbox anymore. Since I moved to Galesburg it is not
working right and I have to contact Gallatinriver. Hope to hear from you again -
Liz
