Hello Diane,
Since you asked...
I am searching for the date of emigration, point of entry and Irish point
of departure/origin for
Carrigan, Patrick (b. Ireland ca. 1811 - d. Poultney, VT ca. 1883)
and first wife Margaret (b. Ireland ca. 1813 - d. Poultney, VT May 28,
1846 [headstone])
Their first child, Mary A. Carrigan Yale, was born in Hampton, NY just in
time for the 1840 census. Also living with them, Margaret's father, Owen
Hunt (b. Ireland ca. 1775 - d. Poultney, VT Oct. 5, 1855 [headstone])
They moved to Poultney - it seems - as soon as it was safe for mother and
baby. By 1853, Patrick had purchased a farm in Poultney. All subsequent
children were born in Poultney.
Many thanks!
A. B. Wheeler
