My father-in-law (Armand CARRIERE) is a good example.
He told me he was a Canadian and that his father was born in France,
but his father was born in Canada and so was many gr-grandfathers
all the way back to Jean CARRIER and Jeanne DODIER
Hi Gary--When I saw your note above, it occurred to me that you might be
able to fill in some missing information on my Carrier line. I am descended
from Madeleine Carrier, who marired Antoine Hamel 12 May 1806 in Trois
Rivieres, Quebec. Madeleine (some sources say Magdeleine) Carrier was the
d/o Etienne Carrier, who married Charlote Begin. Etienne Carrier was the
son of Jacques Charles Carrier, who married Catherine Huard dit Desilets 10
Apr 1736 in Levis. Jacques Charles Carrier was the son of Jean Carrier and
Jeanne Samson (If this is the same Jeanne that you noted above, I seem to
have a different last name for her.)
Any information on the above people would be most welcome. Of course, I'd
love to know the source of the information as well. So far, I've not been
able to find anything on these people. You are the first that I have seen
mentioning this surname.
