residing in this Colony, Province of Louisiana, son of the deceased Sieur HENRY
CENDRET, a merchant, and of Dame ANNE MACON, his father and mother, a native of
Rochefort, Parish of St. Louis Bishopric of La Rochelle
With
Demoiselle MARIE JOSEPHE CARRIERE, minor daughter of the deceased Sieur
FRANCOIS CARRIERE and of Dame FRANCOISE JALLOT her father and mother, a native of
Mobile Bishopric of Quebec.
Stipulating for the minor being her mother Dame JALLOT with Sieur JOSEPH
CARRIERE her uncle and her tutor.
Signing for Sieur CENDRET – Monsieur de BIENVILLE, Chevalier of the Royal
and Military Order of St. Louis, Governeur of this Province, Monsieur de SALMON
paymaster and Judge of this Province, Madame de SALMON his wife, Monsieur

Also signing for the future groom – Sieur BROUTIN Engineer of the King and

Succession was opened on the deceased Sieur FRANCOIS CARRIERE, father of the
future bride, September 8, 1738, and provisions made for her.

Colony of Louisiana. She was 15 years 3 months at the time this marriage
contract was signed. She is the granddaughter of Andre Carrière and Cecile Janot
