BENOIT CARRIER 1930-2004 The family announces with great sorrow his death at
the Timmins & District Hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the age of
74 years. He leaves behind his spouse of 39 years Sylvia (nee Joly). Dear
brother of Mariange St-Pierre of Trout Creek, Delina St-Pierre of Welland,
Roselaine Lafleur (Pat) of Welland, Germaine Lachance (Gerard) of
Kapuskasing), Gerard Carrier (Amanda) of Mattice, Noel Carrier (Paulette) of
Timmins, Remi Carrier (Aurore) of Mattice as well as sisters-in-law Aline
Carrier of Kapuskasing and Sarah Carrier of Welland. He will be missed by 8
godchildren late Germain Carrier, Noella Bacvar, Diane Duguay, Nicole
Seguin, Donald Laferriere, Christopher Sanford, Dan McLean and Yvan Berube.
Benoit also leaves to mourn numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces
and nephews who will cherish him forever. Predeceased by his parents
Angelina & Arthur Carrier, sisters Rosalma Morin and husband Ernest,
Angelina McLean and husband Ovila, Suzanne Trepanier and husband Henri,
Mathilda Carrier and husband Alfred and brothers Henri-Paul Carrier and
spouse Yvonne, Thomas Carrier and spouse Antoinette, Wilfrid Carrier and
Germain Carrier. Benoit was born in Mattice on June 24, 1930 and moved to
Timmins at the age of 19. He worked at Mc Chesney Lumber for 37 years until
his retirement July 1st, 1995. Benoit was an avid dart player, enjoyed
bowling, camping, playing crib and walking around Gilles Lake. He had
numerous friends and always welcomed his family with open arms. Ben was well
known as "Grandpa" to all his nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held
on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Anthony,s Cathedral. In
lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Timmins & District Hospital
Dialysis Unit, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would
be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29, 2004
from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St.

LAURENT (LARRY) CARRIERE 1935-2004 The family annou-nces with great sorrow
his death on Tuesday June 1st, 2004 at the Timmins and District Hospital at
the age of 69 years. Survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Cecile
Carriere, his children Richard Carriere of Timmins, Larry Jr. Carriere
(Nancy) of Timmins, Carole Lecuyer (Ken) of Oshawa and Chantal Desrochers
(Paul) of Timmins, will be missed by his 9 grandchildren Rick Jr., Lisa,
Julie, Tiffany and Laurent Jr. all of Timmins, Shawn and Soonner of Oshawa,
Michelle and his precious two years old Brook Desrochers of Timmins, his
brother Oscar Carriere of Timmins, his sister Diane Patineau (Rick) of
Borget, Ont., and by his many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ocar and Noella Carriere, his sister
Muriel Guertin and his brother Alphonse Carriere (May 29, 2004). Larry
worked at the McIntyre Mine in the Mill as a Shift Boss for most of his 26
years, before taking ill in 1982. Larry enjoyed gambling and playing cards.
He also played baseball and hockey with the Old Timers for many years.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday June 4, 2004 at the
Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Fr. Leo Rancourt officiating.
Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the
charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive
friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Maison funéraire
