Anne Cook Carriere
CARRIERE Anne Cook Carriere died on October 14, 2010 after a brief
illness. She was born on November 4, 1924 in New Orleans to the late
Colonel and Mrs. Thomas Clair Cook. During her young life she lived in
the Philippines, Washington, D.C., Ft. Monroe, Va., Honolulu, Hawaii,
Governors Island, NY and La Jolla, California. After graduating from
Pomona College in Claremont, California, she settled "home" in New
Orleans. She was married in 1949 to Pierre Francis Carriere until his
death in 1993. Survivors include her son, Peter Michael Carriere,
daughter, Anne "Kit" Carriere Stumm, son-in-law, Robert J. Stumm, Jr.,
and her three granddaughters, Courtney, Cecile, and Sibyl Stumm. In
addition, her sister, Clair Cook Schwartz of Georgetowne, Texas, as
well as several nieces and nephews and devoted friend and caretaker,
Mary Lou Mark. She was predeceased by her sister Jane Cook. Relatives
and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, October 16 from
12:30-2:00pm in the 12th floor Penthouse of Lambeth House at 150
Broadway, New Orleans, LA 70118. A private Mass and burial will follow
for the immediate family. The family wishes to thank the staff of
Lambeth House for all their loving kindness and support. In lieu of
