Hello fellow genealogists!
I have been tracing my wife's family for a number of years and made only
a little progress on her Carrier line. They are from the French
Canadian line, but I haven't been able to trace back to Quebec yet.
Here are the basics:
My wife's grandfather was Ernest Carrier, born 1903 in Champlain, NY,
died 1985 in Northampton, Mass. Married Frances Mumblow 1925 in
Easthampton, Mass.
His father was Alexander Carriere, born 1880 in Champlain, died about
1959 in NY. He married Laura Dukette (Duquette) in 1899 in NY.
Alexander was the son of Henry or Henri Carriere who was born about 1850
in Vermont or Quebec. He died in 1927 in Easthampton, Mass. He married
Marie Gaudette in Ellensburg, NY in 1871. His father may have been
named Henri.
There may also be some connection to Jean Baptiste Carriere who married
second Melina St. Onge in Cooperville, NY in 1852. His first wife was
Agnes Charpentier. This Meline may have been a godparent to one of
Henri and Marie's children.
If any of you have any connections, please let me know!
