Hi Donna: Me again. That's the information I was given by John T. Carrier
and the Helynn Carrier Paper. It was summized that that's what happened
because of the long gap between the first three sons and the remainder of
the children. Also, it was felt that one woman couldn't possibly give
birth to children over that length of time. What wasn't agreed on was how
many wives, two or three. I've been trying to find information on Jemima
Nicholas. All I know is that she had a brother Richard who is mentioned in
various court records concerning the children who were bonded out when W.
John died. He went to court over the way John North was mistreating one of
the boys. Solomon, I believe it was. I found it when I was going through
a tape of court records I ordered from the Library in Richmond, VA. That's
about all I know. Perhaps someone else can add to it or correct me. All
comments are appreciated. Ginny

Hi all,
I wonder if any of you have information concerning whether W. John
Carrier had
more than one wife? Some information I have recieved has his first 3
sons as
children of a first wife ( John Jr., Henry, Thomas) name unknown who
died
after the birth of the 3rd son.
