Hi Valerie,
From my cousin Lee...
"Hi again, Yes the author is
John Edward Armstrong
address; 325 So Yellowstone Drive
Madison, Wisc. 53705
This is his 2nd edition, copyright 1983 he had 250 copies made, I hope
he is still alive, and has more copies. I don't remember the price and
it's not on the book. Wasn't that a lucky break that this book got sent
to your family so long ago and then this person asks for this exact book.
Amazing! Even more amazing, after all the years ago since I lost track of
the book, your Mom inherits it, and then finds out it was mine & returns
it to me.
Have you got anything new on Elmer's Mother, Ida? I sent for the
original applications for social security accounts for Elmer, he applied
in 1936 giving his fathers name as Edward David ? Carrier, his Mother as
Ida Beaupre his birth place as Muskegon, Mich. and the date December
1889.
For Ethel Mae Carrier Marshall, father Edward Carrier, Mother Ida Beaupre,
her birth August 1890, in Minneapolis.. And for their half-brother,
William DeRome Carrier his birthplace was DePere, Wisconsin in June 1885.
His father was "unknown "Carrier and his
mother was Ida Vuard.! I think there were 2 boys and a girl that came with
Ida when she married Edward , I thought they were Beaupres but they used
the Carrier name as they grew up. These forms ask for the mother's Maiden
name, and two of them signed Beaupre and one of them signed Vuard .The
reason I'm so interested in this, is that I had always heard that my
Grandma Mae Bruard came to live with the Carriers because she was a
relative of Ida's and they took her in because she had no family. Ida
died of diabetes about 1901 I can't find the date right now,
My cousin Jane Marshall Wood said once "My mother (Ethel) was from a
family of 14 children from 4 marriages." I can only account for 11 of
them. This drives me crazy!! It sounds like Beaupre was Ida's maiden
name, if so what was her married name? I am rambling,,, If you ever have
any new info, please let me know. Lee"
Hope this helps you track down the book!
