Subject: [CARRIER] Thomas Carrier was a walker
Just an aside. While I was working along with Helynn Carrier many
years
ago, I found this following information. (I finally gave up on my Joseph
Carrier family after many years. The research is on the Church of the
Latter Day Saints website)
According to an abstract from Benjamin Franklin's Pennsylvania Gazette,
dated
June, 26, 1735...(Boston, 16 June, 1735) "CARRIER, Thomas, of
Colchester, Conn - lately died there in his 110th year leaving 5 children,
39 grandchildern, and 28 great-grandchildren." The item went on to say that
the day before his death, he walked 20 miles with a sack on his back.
It appears he was a walker!
