The following obit is reprinted from the Oct. 28, 2002 edition of the Bristol Herald
Courier,
in Bristol Va. It is here with their permission.
Oral Preston Carrier
Oral Preston Carrier, 90, of 110 Coffey St., Bristol, Tenn., passed
away on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002. He was the son of the late
Andrew and Laura Watson Carrier and was a lifelong resident of the
Bristol area. He was a former salesman at Edmond Brothers and was
a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. Mr. Carrier was a
member of Woodlawn Baptist Chnurch and a member of the American
Legion.
Survivors include : son, Gary Carrier and wife Linda of Bristol
Tennessee; three grandchildren, Gary Carrier Jr. and wife penny,
Tavara Vanover and husband Kevin, and Tiffany Carrier; and three
great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kendra and Kaitlyn Vanover.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the
Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Playl officiating.
Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be
members of the Mens Sunday School Class No. 3 at Woodlawn
Baptist Church. Military honors will be presented by the VFW
Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975. The family will receive friends on
Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. E-mail condolences
