Subject: Re: Keziah (Schnorf ) Mell
Hello, Bill et al.
I am descended from Keziah Schnorf and David Mell. Back in the 1980's I
corresponded with and later met the younger Frank Morros, who gave me a
tour
of the cemeteries where the family members were buried. I checked my
notes
and don't see any mention of a specific reason for David and Keziah's
move
to Michigan from Ohio, but obituaries of at least two children indicate
that
they came in 1862. I believe David was the son of Philip Mell but have no
proof. I would be interested in communicating with Malinda Isaac and
others
researching the Mell line.
Best,
Ann

Greetings all,
I just received this msg containing reference to Keziah Schnorf who
married David Mell.
(scroll down to next to last paragraph)
John, can you reply to her query about how they ended up in MI?
I have some information down through the Frank Samuel Morros that
Malinda
Isaac lists, but no further except for one direct line through Frank
Martin Morros to Lisa Konopinski, who I communicated with on 5/2/02.
I will contact Katheryn A. Carrier and see if I can obtain the email
address for Malinda Isaac.

Malinda and PamelaFoster44 and any other interested parties,
Your Lorenzo D. *MAY* be the son of Jesse CARRIER aka Jesse G/Jessie G/
Gilmore/Gillmere CARRIER and his second wife Louisa HICKS CARRIER.

Louisa appears to have died 1880-1885 because Jesse married a Mary
E(lizabeth) somebody (b.1854, the same year as his son by his first
wife,
Jeduthan CARRIER, my connection) and had a son Clarence W. in 1885.
By
1900 the family is in Detroit. Jesse has died by the 1920 census and
Clarence by the 1930 census.
Some of this I'm just run onto and I'm hoping to verify.
So here is an Indiana connection, a Three Rivers connection and even a
Berrien connection through Jesse's first and second marriages as both
took
place there as did Lorenzo's marriage to Mary FRY (see the Dibean index

The only info I have is that Lorenzo Dahl (Doll?) Carrier was born in

in Pennsylvania, died in Detroit, MI. in 1939, and is buried in Three
Rivers, MI. His wife Mary Frye came from Middlebury, IN and was born in
1859 and died in 1898 and is buried in Three Rivers, MI. He then
remarried
and I don't know what her name was. My mother never said. This is all
my
mother could remember. Their son, my grandfather, Dennis Denver
Carrier,
was born in Constantine, MI 06-10-1883 and died 03-14-1964. He
married
Pearl Anne Morros who was born in Niles, MI 08-31-1886 and died in So.
Bend, IN 09-29-1962. My grandfather, Dennis, was a jack of all trades.
He
worked as a chauffeur, then he and my grandmother opened a grocery
store
either in Niles or Dowagiac, MI. Then my grandmother divorced him
and
remarried.
My grandmother, Pearl Morros, her father, Frank Samuel Morros (the name
was said to have been changed from Moraski) came from Germany at age
17.
He was born in 1857 and died in 1925. His wife was Irene Estella
Mell
born
in 1864 and died in 1935. Her parents were David Mell born 1821/22 died
in
Niles, Berrien Co., MI in 1892 and Keziah Schnorf born in Warren Co.,
OH
in 1824 died in Niles, Berrien Co., MI in 1882. They were married in
1842
in Warren Co., OH. I don't know how they ended up in MI.
This is all I have. If any of this rings a bell, please let me know.
Any
info you have that matches with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
