I've seen this Canadian Indian tribe mentioned quite a bit.
I've always wondered where they got their name from, now we know.
Nothing to do with our family name, but interesting.
I could see the answer I would get if I told my wife she had to carry my
bones around on
her back after I die. "not"

The Carrier peoples are called Dene... The Sekanni peoples are a totally
different peoples(actually the Sekanni used to be on the Alberta side of the
Rockies... said that the Cree forced them into the territory they currently
reside in) The Carrier are in the Central part of the province. The Carrier
were so named because it is said the widows use to carry the bones of their
deceased on their backs during their period of morning.... Hope this helps.
