Amariah is kind of a broken branch in the family, the more I look the more
confusidor I get.
George May has him as a twin of Amaziah.
Helynn Carrier's book doesn't clear things up much. She doesn't have him as
a son of Amos like Amaziah is but rather as the son of an
unidentified son of Richard with a brother Isaac. BUT, in the first section
of her book she doesn't have Amos listed.
The Amariah she
lists as being born around 1756 and died after 1850. He apparently
appears in the 1810 & 1830 censuses in western NY
then apparently ended up in Pa.
Her book then has Amos as the 10th child of Richard but he only had 9
children.
I suspect that Amaziah is a brother of Amariah, but not a twin. Maybe he was
the black sheep of your family which may be why you don't want to
acknowledge him.
Maybe someone else on our list has better info on this matter that could
clear things up.
