Mrs. Jennie Crowell Dies Monday In Clay
Mrs. Jennie Ann Crowell, 81, died suddenly about 12:30 Monday afternoon
at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E.R. Haynes, in Clay.
Mrs. Crowell had been in ill health for some time but death was unexpected
at that time. Her home was in Blackford until she came to live with Mrs.
Haynes in August.
Surviving her besides Mrs. Haynes are four sons, Enoch, Marion, Emmett
and Huey Crowell, all of Clay; two brothers, Jim Carrier of West Frankfort,
Ill., Jake Carrier, of Eldorado, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Georgia Simpson,
of Henderson; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 Wednesday morning at the Baptist
church in Blackford, of which she was a member, by the Rev. J.R. King of
Blackford and the Rev. T.W. Pope, pastor of the First Baptist church in
Clay.
Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, near Blackford.
