You have too little, and I have so much. I can't keep up with all the
people.. I'm going by the way my family named one of their children by the
Mother maiden name. I do have an Aunt that was in Paris France in 1880. Her
name was Sallie Carrier Barrette. She is the Great Aunt of Guy Harrison and
also the Aunt of Gen. Marcus LaRue Harrison. They seem to all come from the
New York, Penn. Virginia, D.C. area in the late 1700 and the first half of
the 1800. Many were in the Civil War. They began to move west to Fort
Scott, Arkansas, Ill. Kansas. It is a very religous, educated, and patriotic
family so far. My GGAunt that was in Paris, Sallie Carrier Barrette, Was
searching the family history and wrote my Grandmother that she was searcing
the family history, and so far we had nothing to be assamed of.. My
GGAuntSallie Currier Barrette must have married a frenchman. The names I
have in my family are Cutts, Currier, Martin, Barrette,White,Bird. I think
Guy and LaRue the maiden n! ame of some of the Mothers. I also think they
were French. We will see. If you find out something let me know. This is my
hobby since I retired from teaching. Ian is my little Grandson that seems
to love it too. I'm glad to share. P.S.
Where is Troyes, France? Is it close to Paris.
The Guyot could have changed to Guy after they came to American. Go to the
Guy surmane.I have found alot of different spellings for the same name. I
will keep your info. in my file because it seems to be a possiable
connection. The Barrette, LaRue are French and the Guy I don't know yet. Let
me hear from you if you think of anything that might help in our search. Do
you know anything about their occupation or education? Yale seems to be a
popular school for my family . Many were Freemason's and member of The Grand
Army of the Republic. Keep in mind the French helped us in the Revolutionary
War ,and many stayed or came back after the war. Forgive me I digress to
teaching again. Wishing you Pink Clouds and Butterflies and a blessed
Easter. THANKS so much to this WEB- PAGE
