It's been over 5 years since I've used any Windows genealogy programs,
between what I've forgotten or never knew, I think you could get more/better
info from this page:

Make sure you go down to the bottom and click on the "Comparison" link.
I've tried many and used some for periods of time but find each one has a
some little point that bugs me so I try another one.
I prefer free (open source) programs. Everytime I bought a program the
vendor would always come along 6 month later and offer a "BETTER.NEW"
version at additional cost.
It's like buying shoes, try one on and see how it fits, a lot of them offer
free trials.
