Hello Kate & welcome to the list.
Ah, the lost David.....the wanderer
I have the following info on your David
Born 24 March or 28 April 1794 in NY.
Died 8 Oct or 19 Nov 1849 Lorain Co. Oh.
Married Sabra Peet who was born in Conn. 13 Aug 1797 died Lorain Co. Oh.
16 March 1890.
Children:
[born NY ]Asal, Erastus, Harrriet, Betsey Ann,
[born Canada ] Almira, Charles Pete, William,
[now back in NY] John Sylvester
and born in Ohio- Abigail.
Some of the children born in NY are listed as in Monroe County which is is
where Rochester NY is located.
Now, I suppose you want to know his ancestry. But we don't know for sure,
it depends.
One of my Carrier books has him listed in the Appendix of unknown origin
with some unproven suppositions (guesses) of his ancestry.
Another shows him to be descended from the ninth (unidentified son) of
Richard 1674-1749 whose first son Isaac was Davids father.
But I show the ninth son of Richard was named Amos BUT Amos didn't have a
son named Isaac.
There are several Davids listed on my web page
(
http://web.vplp.net/~carrier/ )that "may" be your David but their
ancestries don't match either of these other Davids.
Feel free to poke around the website and see if you can break down your
brick wall.

Morning, folks. I'm new to the list and, of course, looking for
some
help.
My name's Kate Sowdon and I live in Plymouth, Massachusetts...great
place to
be from if you're 'into' genealogy!!!
I'm looking for any information on a David CARRIER, born 1792. The only
info I've found states he may have been born in Jefferson City, PA. I
have
an unconfirmed death date of 08 Oct 1849. He was married 1816 in Monroe,
Orange Co., New York to Sabra PEET. They had three children-Erastus
CARRIER. 1818, Betsy Ann CARRIER b. 13 Oct 1821 (birth place given only
as
'New York') and Charles Peet CARRIER b about 1826, birth place given
only as
'Canada".
Any help, suggestions or even the vaguest of hints in finding my David
CARRIER would be greatly appreciated. David was my 3rd g-grandfather
and is
one of brick walls.
Thanks for taking the time to read my quest. Hope everyone has a
relaxing
weekend!
regards,
Kate Sowdon
