Hi Listers,
I've been home from Salt Lake for almost a week - it's time I shared some of
the stuff I found at the library. I will try to cite all my sources. If I
forget some, feel free to remind me.
On film No. 1548900, Item 7, Shenandoah, VA (Dunmore and/or Page Co.), I
found the "Painter Collection," compiled by Fred P. Painter, Woodstock, VA.
He lists a number of marriages, from which I'll extract the following:
Caleb Odell - Abigail Plumley -- Oct. 25, 1772 (the Odell family is also
found in eastern TN)
John Carryer - Moreall -- Feb. 8, 1773
Jonathan Morrell - Cathrine Odell -- Apr. 17, 1774
John Barnett - Betty Odell -- Mar. 15, 1774
John Heisey/Hisey - Mina Carrier -- Apr. 5/6, 1804 (not all the Carriers
moved to eastern TN)
For Darryn:
Jacob Lichliter - Betsy Funk -- Aug. 11, 1806

(Note from Janet - I'm not positive the above appraisal is accurate, since it
was on two separate pieces of paper.)

Thomas Carrier - my next posting will explain. This transmission is getting
rather long - will send more info asap. I think this is all I have from this
