Clarification of the letter (1901)from S.S. Carrier (Solomon, this is how I read it which
would indicate that Amariah's father was possibly an unknown brother/cousin of Amaziah
but not the son of Amos. I, too, feel that they are related but no longer feel that they
are siblings. Following Enoch Rowley may give some clues or clarification.
"I, S. S. Carrier, was born June 9 1926 in Jamestown, N.Y. My father (Jesse) was born
near Albany, N. Y. in 1894 and moved with his folks to Chautauque County in 1810 and
settled on the west side of Chautauque Lake. His father's name was Amariah Carrier. I
know very little of his ancestors (I read this to mean Amariah's ancestors). His
father (Amariah's) died in the army when he was small. His mother (Amariah's)
married a man by the name of Enoch Rowley. There were two children by that marriage, Enoch
and Polly. Don't know where they settled."
