Neal,
Adelbert A. Carrier, age 20, mustered into the 143rd NY Infantry as a
private in Company H at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY on Aug 15, 1862 for 3
years. He mustered out May 18, 1865 at Hospital 5, Nashville, TN. The
picture of him is in the Tennessee State Archives.
I found an Adelbert A. Carrier marrying Alice Shoop in Crawford County,
Michigan September 25, 1883. Alice and her family are in the Crawford
County Census for Maple Forest, Crawford Co, in the 1880 Census. I find no
Adelbert Carrier in the 1880 census for Michigan except for my Adelbert
Warner Carrier age 13. I found no Adelbert Carrier in NY in the 1880
Census. I found an Adelbert Carrier in Genesee Co, Michigan, age 25, as a
farm hand in the 1870 census.
I have no further information. This is just what I have found on the
internet when searching for my Adelbert W. Carrier. Hope this helps in
sorting out the Adelbert Carriers.

Grady,
Neither George May's or Helynne Carrier's books list an Adelbert L.
Carrier.
Helynne does have an Adelbert Amos Carrier b-ca 1842 d-ca 1902
the son of Flavius Pease Carrier, looks like they lived in Liberty, NY.
No mention of any Civil War servis for this Adelbert.
Some where on my computer I do have a picture of
Adelbert Carrier, Private in the 143rd Regiment,NYS Volunteer Infantry.
But he's a stray soul as I don't know for sure which one he is.
