WILLIAM "BILL" CARRIER, 73, of Mount Lebanon Road in Nicholasville, died
Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Nicholasville following complications from
cancer.
He was born May 28, 1926, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was the son of the late
James and Dixie Emery Carrier.
Mr. Carrier was the widower of Ethel Louise Gill Carrier. Having retired
after many years of masonry construction for Austin Dehart Company, he
was a member of Union Local No. 189. He enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors,
especially fishing and hunting.
Survivors include seven sons, William M. Gill and his wife, Brenda, of
Nicholasville, James E. Carrier and his wife, Jacqueline, of Wilmore, Curry
"Duke" Carrier of Nicholasville, David A. Carier and his wife, Jacqueline,
of Nicholasville, Frank M. Carrier and his wife, Aritha of Berea and Robert
E. Carrier and Anthony Carrier, also of Nicholasville; two daughters, Cheryl
K. Hill and her husband, Larry, of Bryantsville, and and Annette L. Murphy
and her husband, Karl Dean, of Lexington; two brothers, James "Jake" Carrier
and his wife, Norma, of Nicholasville and Russell B. Carrier of Crab Orchard;
three sisters, Elsie Virginia Sabottke, and Ruth Earl Forrest and her husband,
Richard, all of Nicholasville, and Betty Jean Pitts and her husband, John,
of Crab Orchard; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and dixie Emery Carrier;
two brothers, Harold and Frank Thomas Carrier; three sisters, Mary Davis,
Katie Carrier and Louise Carrier; and four grandchildren, William Brian
Gill, Ina Louise Carrier, Roberta Carrier and James Michael Carrier.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, march 28, at McKnight-Martin
Funeral Home Chapel in Crab Orchard with Brother Donnie Ervin officiating.
Burial followed at Carrier and Pitts Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
Casket bearers were James W. Carrier, David A. Carrier Jr., Marvin Gill,
Chris McMillen, Gregory Vance and John Paul Pitts.
