I agree with you that the next step would be to eliminate all possible candidates from the
lines available to us. I have sorta scanned over the lineage that are on a couple of
websites and don't find any that settled in New York. But, I have to look at them
closer.
I have done a lot of research on almost all the lines that S. S. Carrier talked about and
yes! I also agree that his memory may have been confused on a few, but on most he was
right on. He himself, says that there could be mistakes as he was taking this from what
had been told to him. Oral history is often full of mistakes. But we can't discount
it as often there are many reliable leads.
And, NO! I have not found anything on Rowley/Carrier connection yet,although there is
one Enoch out there born in 1797. I am suspecting the S. S. was mistaken about the first
name of Rowley.
We know very little of Amos Jr. but we do know that he was in Albany New York, where
Amariah had his family. He was in Albany and his brother, Amaziah lived in the next
county.
My brain is actually hurting from all this data running around.
