Martha,
I've never run into a Naomi Carrier from NY nor anywhere else.
The Pennsylvania Dutch connection is the first I've ever seen also.
I'm sure our Pennsylvania expert, Marge, will respond if there's anything
there.

Subject: [CARRIER-L] Naomi Carrier?
Hi,
I'm new on this list. My name is Martha Walters and live in Wisconsin.
My
great-grandmother was Naomi Carner or Carrier. I don't know
which for
sure.
She was married to Julius Wilcox in 1837. She was born in NY in
1818.
She
claimed to have Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry. Julius Wilcox's
obituary
said
her maiden name was Carner; however, other family researchers claim
it was
Carrier. I can see where Carrier handwritten could be read as Carner for
the
obituary, but I don't know for sure.
Any ideas out there? Have any of you run into these people in your
Carrier
lines? Any PA Dutch?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Martha
