Pat,
There was a William Charles Carrier born in Penn. in 1824 and died in Illinois, but
his parents weren't David & Mary.
There's also a David & Mary Carrier living in Penn. in this time frame but they
didn't
have a son William.
I would suspect that if your William came from Penn. there is a 99% probablility that
he was descended from Thomas & Martha as a lot of Carriers migrated from Conn. to
Penn. just after the revolution.
Good luck in your search.

I have not been able to determine if my line goes to Martha as yet. My gg
grandfather was William C. Carrier, born in Pennsylvania about 1826. He died in
Van Buren County MI in 1878; records there show he was the son of David and
Mary Carrier of Pennsylvania.
The one thing of interest to me is the connection to the Abott family. My
husband is related to the "Abbott" family, but my research has only brought me
to the early 1800's and primarily in Indiana. This is the first I realized
that the name appears in connection with the Carriers. My mother was a Carrier.
