Thomas Carrier who married Nancy Hatcher had a son named William. This William Carrier
married Margaret Gourley in Carter Co, TN. Thomas and most, if not all of his children,
moved to Laurel Co, KY. William and Margaret moved to Pulaski Co, KY, (adjacent to Laurel
Co). In the early 1850s, Thomas gave William his POA in the early 1850s in Laurel Co, KY
to go to Sullivan Co TN to claim any legacy that Thomas was due as a result of his
uncle's, (Thomas Morrell) estate. You will find a transcription of the POA here:

Message Board Post:
I'm researching Wm. D. Carrier who married first Mahala Nelson and second
Margaret Feathers. He lived in Sullivan County. His parents have been
identified as Thomas Carrier and Nancy Hatcher but I think this is incorrect.
His parents are more likely Jonathan Carrier and Abigail Glover. I'd like to
know what part of Sullivan County the Carriers settled in.
