Subject: [CARRIER] Obits
Saw this in the paper this morning and thought my daughter Debby had died and didn't
let us know but it's a different one.
I didn't know of any Carriers from Watertown.
As the list is very inactive lately, it might be a good idea if any members come across
"Carrier" obits to post them to the list.

Deborah Carrier Prue
New Hartford, NY
Deborah Carrier Prue, 57, childhood resident of Clinton, NY, and longtime resident of New
Hartford, surrounded herself to share her love with her family this Christmas season
before falling asleep on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, after an admirable and courageous
battle with cancer. Debbie was born on August 14, 1954, in Watertown, NY, a daughter of
Patricia and the late Donald Carrier. She married the love of her life, Edward James Prue,
on July 2, 1982, and the couple raised their seven children. Debbie shared her unique gift
as an amazing educator at the Whitesboro Central School as an elementary teacher. Later
she assumed the reasonability for professional development as a Teacher Center Director
for Whitesboro. In addition to her numerous contributions to the district, she also taught
at Utica College as an adjunct instructor for their education methods program. Not only
was she dedicated to her family and work, but to causes close to her heart as
well. One of those caus!
es was the Whitesboro Relay for Life, an organized event she helped organize. Surviving
Debbie are her husband, Edward Prue, of New Hartford; her mother, Patricia Carrier,
Clinton; her seven children, Kimberly Dorr Pannes and her husband, Peter Pannes, of
Jamestown, NY, and their four children (who are the twinkle in Debbie's eyes), Lucy,
Niko, Cooper, and Matthew, Robert Dorr and his wife, Nakeima Dorr, of Junction City, KS;
Adam Prue, of Poughkeepsie, NY; Katie Prue and fiance, Michael Vroom, of Waldwick, NJ,
Alex, Meghan, and James Prue, New Hartford; her brother, David Carrier and his wife, Lori,
of Woodgate, NY; and aunt, Kathleen Smith, of Utica. Debbie is predeceased by her father,
Donald Carrier; and a brother, Michael Carrier. The family wishes to thank the 6th floor
nursing staff at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare and Hospice, and all those who provided
her with tender and dignified care, especially Kathy Smyth, nurse extraordinaire. The
funeral
will be on Saturday a!
t 9:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be
celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday(today)
from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford
Rd., New Hartford. In lieu of flowers, please consider Hospice and Palliative Care in
memory of Debbie. Online memories to our dear mother, wife, daughter, niece, sister,
teacher, mentor, and friend can be made at:
