My uncle Chester Carrier did research a few years ago and he says that we
belong to the W. John Carrier group. My cousin Bonnie Carrier Smith
updated the info during the last few years. Uncle Chester is now deceased.
My mother Alberta Carrier Johnson is 91 and she has an older sister and 1
younger brother and 2 younger sisters. Overall there were 13 children.
The group that meet for a reunion are O.H. (Ollie Herman) Carrier's family
and his full sisters and brothers' family. We have somewhere between 65 and
100. O.H. Carrier had 1 full brother (Lutz - we called him Luke) and 3
full
sisters, ( Addie, Bertha, Ada) . His father, Stephen Clinton Carrier, was
first married to Mahalia Reams and they had 9 children and then he married
Martha Buckles and they had 5 children plus infant death. Mahalia is Buried
in the Carrier Cemetery in Laurel County. Martha is buried in the Pilot
Knob
Cemetery in Madison County, next to Stephen Clinton Carrier.
You are welcome to attend.
Earl J. Johnson
They have been having reunions I would guess from the late 1940's bases
upon
the photos that I have seen.

Hello Earl,
Thanks for the invite but it's a fair bit of a drive for me from upstate NY.
I did pass your email onto the Carrier list on Rootsweb and one person expressed an
interest and asked for your email address which I gave her.
How many of these reunions have you had and how many attend. I know some of my Carrier
cousins have wanted to have one but everyone is scattered from east coast to west coast,
Japan and in Alaska so it hasn't happened other than the one in Salem a couple of
years ago.
Which Carrier line is having this reunion, the Thomas Carrier from Mass. or the W. John
Carrier from Virginia?
I looked up the Carrier cemetery you mentioned and I see only one Carrier male and 2
Carrier wives are buried there, wonder how he got it named after him?
Keep in touch,
Neal

thought they were relation. Foster has been in contact with him. During these e-mails,
one of them told me the location of the Carrier Cemetery in Laurel County that I had been
trying to find.
