Sounds interesting.
Dear Family:
Since the publication of* The Heretic's Daughter** *two years ago, I have
received dozens of wonderful emails and letters from fellow descendants of
Thomas and Martha Carrier from all over the country. Surprisingly, quite a
few of you had heard similar tales of the Carrier family, and even shared
some stories that I hadn't heard before. I have loved connecting with so
many relatives in this way.
This November my second novel, *The Wolves of Andover*, which chronicles the
life of Thomas Carrier in England, and the story of how he came to meet
Martha, will be published by Little Brown & Co. In celebration of my new
book and the discovery of so many family members, I would like to extend to
you an invitation to attend a Carrier family reunion, embracing all five
branches of the family; the descendants of Richard, Andrew, Tom, Sarah and
Hannah.
The dates of the reunion are November 5th and 6th, 2010, in Salem,
Massachusetts, and will encompass a private reception Friday evening for the
Carrier descendants and a larger, public event on Saturday that will include
other historians, authors and perhaps a few surprise guests. My publisher,
Little Brown, is working with me to secure a hotel with special rates,
developing walking tours of Salem and, most importantly, the opportunity to
spend time with those of you who would like travel back to the place
where the story of the colonial Carriers began.
In order to get the best hotel rates, event venues and speakers who
specialize in Colonial American history, we'd love to get an early head
count of who would be interested in attending. Please email me if you
think you and your family would like to make this journey of
discovery. Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of year in New
England, and it would be a fantastic opportunity to share this experience
with you.
Very best regards,
Kathleen Kent
Please don't reply to carrier(a)rootsweb.com. Those of us who are not related to the
family in the way specified would rather not have to delete all the reply's that this
might generate.

Kathleen,
I and my partner, Betty, will attend. We live in Portsmouth, RI, but will stay
overnight at least Friday if not Saturday as well. I am forwarding your letter to my
mother and Uncle. Sincerely, Neila Bennett
