Well for what it's worth, my mother was born a Carrier, and her dad was
about 5 foot 6; everyone in the family is under 5'6, males included.
Somewhere we all lost the tall genes. Everyone was/is blond that grays
before the age of 30.

My grandfather and GGrandfather always referred to our Carrier family
as
being "black Irish"
I used to think that was because most of them had black hair and brown
eyes.
Also the men in my family were all tall (most over 6'2" - 6'5")
Could this have been some Welsh infusion? Though most of them had black
hair they also had hints of red.
Family tale: Thomas Morgan (Carrier) was part of the group who beheaded
King Charles I and he was suspected - due to his height on horseback - to
be
the one who beheaded the King. Hence his fleeing to America and changing
his name. Preposterous tale? Who knows? My GG GF said his father (my
GGG)
"was in trouble when he got here" (America) Again who knows?
