The *Seneca* are a group of
indigenous<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigenous_peoples_of_the_Amer...
native to North America. They were the nation located farthest to the
west within the Six Nations or Iroquois
League<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iroquois>in New York before the
American
Revolution <
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolution>. While exact
population figures are unknown, approximately 15,000 to 25,000 Seneca live
in Canada, near Brantford,
Ontario<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brantford,_Ontario>at the Six
Nations of the Grand River First
Nation<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Nations_of_the_Grand_River_Fir...;.
They are descendants of Seneca who resettled there, as they had been allies
of the British during the American Revolution. Nearly 30,000 Seneca live in
the United States, on and off
reservations<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_reservation>around
Buffalo,
New York <
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo,_New_York> and in
Oklahoma<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma>
.

The Brown family genealogy claims that Rachel Carrier was an "Indian
Princess" (even tho that term was not used by the Native Americans).

Other genealogies show that Rachel was descended from Thomas and Martha
Carrier of New England lineage so we wonder where the Seneca Carriers fit
into the tree.

Alright Neal Lets have a little lesson! Where were the Seneca

I also am the one with a name spelling change that I thought was uniquic
but
is not. Other attached families SHEETS, WYATT, Yankee, and they become

Oklahoma mostly. Bud in Mo.

Wish we knew the answer to the Rachel Carrier/Joseph Brown connection to
the
Seneca Indians but this popped up on another list.
Most of is irrelevant but at the bottom in the "Seneca Surnames" Carrier is
included.
